Why Dogs Deserve the Best

Our bond with dogs is universal: there are an estimated 900 million pet dogs worldwide, a testament to how deeply they enrich our lives. And in the U.S., 66% of households own a pet, with dogs being the most popular choice as companions.

Yet the reality is that far too many dogs still wait for love. In the United States, approximately 6-8 million cats and dogs enter shelters, but only about 4 million are adopted.

Even in 2024, roughly 2 million dogs were adopted, while 334,000 were euthanized, and 524,000 were transferred to other organizations. Around the world, millions of dogs continue to wait, hoping for a second chance.
