Do I still need a separate harness with this coat?

No — that is the whole point of this coat. The built-in harness strap means you clip your lead directly to the coat itself. You do not need a separate chest harness underneath. This saves time getting ready for walks and means your dog only has one layer to wear rather than two.

Is the coat truly waterproof or just water-resistant?

The outer shell is waterproof — designed to repel rain and snow rather than just resist light drizzle. The composite wool lining on the inside stays dry even when the outer is wet, keeping your dog warm throughout. For very heavy sustained rain, we recommend wiping the coat down after walks to maintain the waterproof performance over time.

How do I put this coat on my dog?

The back zipper is the key feature here. Open the zip fully, lay the coat open on the floor or across your lap, guide your dog's legs through, and zip up along their back. Most owners find this much easier than pulling a coat over the head — especially with dogs who dislike things going over their face.

My dog is between two sizes. Which should I order?

Always size up if you are between sizes. A slightly larger coat is more comfortable and easier to put on than one that is too tight around the chest. The zip allows for some flexibility in fit. Measure your dog's chest at its widest point and use that as the primary measurement — chest fit is more important than neck or back length for this style.

Can I wash this coat in the washing machine?

We recommend hand washing or a gentle machine cycle at 30°C to preserve the waterproof coating and the wool lining. Do not tumble dry — air dry flat or hang to dry. Avoid fabric softeners as these can reduce the waterproof performance of the outer shell over time.

Is this suitable for a dog who pulls on the lead?

The built-in harness clip sits on the chest, which naturally discourages pulling by redirecting your dog rather than pulling back on their neck. It is not a dedicated no-pull training harness, but the chest attachment position does help manage dogs who pull more than a standard collar would.
